Chartered Physiotherapists for Sport and Exercise Medicine (CPSEM), a group of highly qualified and experienced physiotherapists, specializes in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries and musculoskeletal disorders. The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists has a Clinical Interest Group called the Chartered Physiotherapists in Sport and exercise Medicine (or CPSEM). Members of CPSEM are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). CPSEM members are primarily interested in sports injuries and exercise medicine. They are able to get people back to their sport/fitness in the shortest possible time, regardless of their level of activity. They can assess and treat a variety of conditions using manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to restore normal movement and function.

Some examples of conditions treated by CPSEM members include sports injuries such as strains, sprains, and tears, overuse injuries, training/technique-related dysfunction, fitness deficits/impairments, neck and back problems, upper and lower limb dysfunctions, movement problems after fractures or orthopedic surgery, joint and muscle pain as a result of arthritic conditions, joint sprains and strains, muscle and tendon injuries, and ligament injuries.
