This is easily the worst place I’ve ever lived. Whatever you do, do not move here. When I moved in, there was mold all over my shower. I immediately brought it to maintenance and management, and maintenance refused to clean it. Management eventually told me there was nothing they could do and that I would have to clean it myself. Landlords are responsible for providing and maintaining a rental property in a habitable condition, so being told to handle mold that was already there when I moved in was completely unacceptable. The communication from management has also been terrible.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the customer service I encountered during my recent visit to Chapel Ridge apartments. As a transfer student now attending Chapel Hill, I was in need of off-campus housing due to the housing shortage on campus. Upon my initial visit, I was informed by Anthony that there were no available units for me to tour. However, I later discovered that a friend of mine was able to tour multiple units on the same day.

I would not sign a lease at Chapel Ridge. In my opinion, it is not worth the money or the hassle. The property may look appealing at first, but once you actually deal with management and the policies, it can be a completely different experience. Communication is frustrating, problems don’t always feel like they’re handled properly, and there can be unexpected fees and issues that residents need to watch out for. The parking situation is especially frustrating, with strict enforcement and towing concerns. I would strongly recommend reading every part of the lease .
